Unexpectedly, when unloading the dishwasher you may find that the dishes or glassware have developed a cloudy film around them. While this film does not mean that they are dirty, it does not look attractive, especially at a dinner party. But don’t worry, this is not an appliance fault and the issue can be addressed by following the simple advice given below.
Descale the appliance regularly
The build-up of limescale is usually one of the reasons why your dishes or glassware keep coming out with white film around them. This occurs when you live in a hard water area and the water is not softened well enough and/or the appliance hasn’t been descaled. Hard water has a high number of dissolved minerals, predominantly magnesium and calcium and improper maintenance could lead to issues that could damage parts of the appliance. Use rinse aid
Rinse aid is an essential product when it comes to achieving perfect cleaning and drying results. Using it alongside your regular dishwasher tablets, you will find that dishes are shinier, drier and protected from film as well as water spots. For best results we recommend using rinse aid separately to your dishwasher tablets, even if a small amount of product is already included. To read more about how to use rinse aid, click here.
