1. Which type of washing machine do you need?
If you're looking for two in one, you can opt for a washer dryer. It combines the functions of two appliances in one housing. Because it's able to both wash and dry your garments, it's the right choice for households that appreciate maximum function in minimum space.
2. A freestanding or an integrated washing machine?
When choosing a new appliance, consider for a moment where it will be located. Is it integrated into the kitchen? Placed in the bathroom? In the laundry room or the cellar? Depending on where it will go, you'll need either an integrated or freestanding washing machine.
What is a freestanding washing machine?
These models stand alone, often in the bathroom, laundry room or cellar. A dryer can be placed next to it or, if compatible, stacked on top.
What is an integrated washing machine? What is a built-in washing machine?
An integrated washing machine, also called a built-in washing machine, fits into a cabinet for a seamless look, typically in a kitchen. There are also built-under models that slide under a worktop, without being hidden by a cabinet door.
3. What capacity? 7, 8 , 9 or 10 kg?
How many kilograms of laundry should your new machine hold? The answer depends on the number of people in your home, the amount of laundry you do, and the types of items you wash. Here are some rules of thumb to follow:

4. What spin speed? 1400 or 1600 rpm?
When talking about spin speed, the revolutions per minute (rpm) refer to how fast the drum rotates during the spin cycle. Generally speaking, the higher the spin speed, the "drier" your clothes are after washing.
5. How important is an energy efficient washing machine?

6. Do you want a very quiet washing machine?
Especially during the spin cycle, but also during a normal wash programme, the noise some products make can be disturbing. If your machine is located in the kitchen, bathroom or other living space where you spend time, we strongly recommend choosing a low decibel model. It's also advisable to choose a silent washing machine if you've found a machine noisy in the past.

Washes well and is quiet
The new machine seems to wash well, is quieter than our old machine and the i-DOS system has its benefits. However, there are few practical things which I feel let it down. The main one is that you don't know when it has finished its cycle unless you happen to hear the couple of quite quiet beeps at the end. And yes, I have increased the olume to maximum. Our old machine would continue to beep loudly until you opened the door. Now we have to set a seperate timer and carry it around with us. Secondly, whilst the i-Dos means you don't have to worry about putting in detergent and conditioner every wash, it's not great if you wish to use different detergents for different washes. Lastly I find levelling the machine to avoid vibration is nigh on impossible, although to be fair this is an issue with most machines. Once the machine is pushed under the worksurface it is impossible to put a spirit level front to back and even if you could the whole machine has to be disconnected and removed to adjust the feet at the back.

Review: Bosch Series 6 Washing Machine – Exceptionally Impressed I am thoroughly impressed with my Bosch Series 6 washing machine. From the moment I started using it, I could tell it was a high-quality appliance. The build feels sturdy and durable, and the sleek design complements my kitchen perfectly. What stands out most is its performance. The machine runs exceptionally quietly, even during the spin cycle, which is a welcome change from my previous washer. The range of programmes is versatile, catering to everything from delicate fabrics to heavily soiled items. The EcoSilence Drive technology is particularly impressive – not only is it quiet, but it also appears to be highly energy-efficient. The results speak for themselves: clothes come out spotlessly clean, fresh, and well-cared for. I also appreciate the large drum capacity, which makes washing bulky items like duvets much easier. The SpeedPerfect function is a real bonus, reducing wash times without compromising on quality. Overall, I couldn’t be more pleased with this washing machine. It combines efficiency, reliability, and ease of use with fantastic cleaning results. Our previous Bosch Washing Machine lasted 20 years so there was no competition in choosing a reliable brand. Measuring for installation pointed us to the model and the supplying engineers could only be one reputable company John Lewis. The new A-rated machine’s functionality is magic!
