What is a Griddle Plate?
Our Griddle Plate allows you to turn your hob into a grill, so you can enjoy barbecue fun the whole year round. It is suitable for all classic grilled dishes and has a large surface area so that you can also cook larger amounts of food in one go. You can use the griddle for low-fat grilling due to its non-stick coating, whilst the groove design prevents food from sitting in the fat.
Please note, the Griddle Plate is only compatible with FlexInduction and CombiZone hobs.
Using the Griddle Plate
Before using the Griddle Plate, gently clean with a soft sponge and hot water mixed with a little detergent.
Step 1: Place the lightly greased plate on the cooking zone and use a high heat setting to heat it up.
Step 2: Distribute the prepared food on the griddle and adjust the heat setting to the desired temperature.
Step 3: Cook away!

Tips and tricks
- Always lift the Griddle Plate completely if you wish to move it to avoid scratches or rubbing marks.
- It is best to always use an oven cloth or oven gloves as the handles can get very hot.
- Do not operate the Griddle Plate on level 9 or on power/boost and never leave it empty for longer periods on the heat source. It can reach 300° C when empty within a few minutes. Oil and fat can very quickly burn into the surface at such a high temperature. This can damage the effective non-stick properties.
- If you wish to grill with oil, apply a small quantity of oil or fat to the product and not the Griddle Plate. Use hardened vegetable fat or vegetable oil for this. Avoid using butter, margarine, cold pressed oils and salad oils.
- Avoid using sharp metal as it may cause scratches. These scratches will not however affect the taste or the quality of the food being grilled.
- Always to cool down before cleaning.
- Always dry thoroughly after cleaning in order to protect it from oxidation.
Cleaning and maintenance
- Never use a metallic sponge, bleach or scouring agents for cleaning.
- Always allow the Griddle Plate to cool down before cleaning in order to protect it from distortion due to too much cold water.
- For mild care, we recommend hot water and some detergent/mild household cleaner and a dishcloth. A washing-up brush is the best for cleaning the griddles.
- It is best not to wash the Griddle Plate in the dishwasher. Cleaning agents, tabs and salts will damage the coating of and may cause discolouration.
- Cleaning in the dishwasher may also lead to oxidation (bright spots). If you still wish to clean the Griddle Plate in the dishwasher, apply oil afterwards. This will prevent the coating from drying out.
- Heavily seasoned or marinated foods release acids that can infiltrate the surface of your Griddle Plate. If discolouration or stains occur, these will not affect the food or the grilling result.
Notes
- For cookers combined with an electric hob, instead of selecting the recommended heat setting, always select the next lowest one. Example: Heat setting 3 becomes heat setting 2.
- Note that the handles can become extremely hot. Do not use knives or metal objects that might scratch the non-stick griddle.
