Why is there water at the bottom of my dishwasher?
If the amount of water left in your dishwasher after a cycle is no more than two cups, then this is normal. Usually the appliance remains wet after a cycle due to the condensation drying principle which causes water droplets in the tub – they are indeed desirable here. The moisture in the air condenses on the inside walls, runs off and is pumped out.
If your filter is blocked, the appliance may be unable to pump out water as effectively. We therefore recommend cleaning the filter to ensure that it isn't causing you any issues.
How to get rid of standing water in dishwasher?
1. Remove the dishwasher rack.
2. Then, unlock the filter unit found at the base of the dishwasher and pull it out. Separate the unit by carefully unscrewing the cylindrical filter first.
3. Clean both filters under running tap water. You can also use a small brush to gently clean the inside of the filter and remove smaller pieces of debris. Do not use anything abrasive as this can damage the filter. If you prefer, you can also leave the filter to soak in soapy water before reinserting it. If you choose to soak the filter, ensure to wash off any soap.
4. Once clean, replace the filter and be sure to check that the arrow marks align. This means that the filter has been locked into its place.
If you have followed the steps above, and there is still a lot of remaining water in the tub after a cycle, we recommend booking an engineer visit.
