Stainless steel is well known for being hardy and anti-rust despite daily wear and tear, making it an obvious choice for most modern kitchens. However, that doesn’t mean that rust, stains and damage never happen. If you’re worrying about maintaining your beautiful shiny stainless steel kitchen appliances, stress not - all it takes few simple steps to keep your appliance bright and clean!
Step by step guide
1. First, find the direction of the stainless steel grain. It could be horizontal, vertical or diagonal.
2. Clean the steel with a soft cloth and mild, soapy water. Remember always wipe in the direction of the grain. Wipe dry with a soft cloth such as the microfiber E-cloth for stainless steel surfaces.
3. Apply the Bosch stainless steel conditioner and wipe with a soft cloth in the direction of the grain.
4. Remove any excess with a paper towel.
To clean the inside of the appliance, you can use our food-safe Fridge Cleaner. For detailed instructions, click here.
Caution:
DO NOT apply the conditioner to logos, control labels or black stainless steel.
DO NOT use chlorine-based cleaners or abrasive cleaners and cloths.
What's safe to use
When it comes to cleaning supplies you can use to restore the showroom shine on stainless steel appliances, we recommend the following:
1. For limescale, use diluted vinegar and a soft cloth to gently buff.
2. For adhesives like sticky tape residue, use a little mild acetone solution (similar to nail polish remover) and wipe gently.
3. For coffee or tea deposits, use a sprinkle of baking soda, allow it to absorb the deposit, and then simply wipe away.
4. Microfiber cloths are the best since they do not scratch the surface of the appliance and absorb as much water as possible. You can purchase our recommended cleaning and care products, including the microfiber E-cloth for stainless steel appliances, from the quick links shown below.
