If the appliance is not switching on, or starting, don’t panic. There are a few simple checks you can perform to see if the problem is something more obvious than expected.
Check the power
If there are no lights displaying on the tumble dryer, please check that plug is properly inserted into the socket and the switch is set to on.
If this has been established, check that the socket is providing power by plugging in another electrical product into the socket, for example a lamp. If the socket doesn’t work, insert the tumble dryer plug into the socket next to it, if you have a double socket, and try again.
If the sockets work, check the fuse in the plug by putting the fuse into another appliance’s plug or by putting a new fuse which you know works into the tumble dryer’s plug. Make sure that you use a 13 amp fuse.
You should also check if the circuit breaker has tripped. If necessary, contact an electrician.
Check that you have selected a programme
If your appliance is switching on, but you have not selected a programme correctly your appliance will not start. Please review your instruction manual for guidance on choosing the best programme for your laundry needs.
Dryer door is left open
If you have not closed the appliance door properly, the programme will not start. Please firmly close the door and ensure that there is nothing blocking the latch. If you are having problems with closing the dryer’s door, click here.
Child lock has been activated
Press and hold the "Ready in" time button and the drying time button at the same time for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate the childproof lock. Please note that the child lock functionality works differently on some models. For appliance-specific information, please check your instruction manual.
