If your appliance is not functioning properly and is leaking water, there are a few simple checks that you can carry out on your own, which may help your resolve the issue.
Level the dryer
A leaking tumble dryer is often not an appliance fault, but rather a matter of correct placing. The most important thing to remember is that the appliance must be levelled and not standing at an incline. You can easily reposition the dryer using the appliance feet. We recommend placing the appliance on a stable, hard floor and using a spirit level to double check the level.
Clean the fluff filter
The fluff filter should be cleaned after every cycle to ensure that the appliance functions correctly. Blockage may lead to the machine overflowing and leaking water. To find out how to clean the fluff filter in a few simple steps, click here.
Check the drain hose
Check that the drain hose is not kinked or damaged. If any damage is visible, please or order a replacement part via our spare parts finder. You can purchase a replacement drain hose using our spare parts search and entering the appliance information to get the bill of materials or by calling customer service on 0344 892 8979, where a member of our customer service team will assist your further with your query.
Installation tip: When installing the drain hose, ensure that the height difference between the surface on which the appliance is installed and the drain hose does not exceed 100cm (1m).
Empty the condensation unit
Condensation dryers have a tank which should be emptied after every cycle. When removing the condensation tank, be aware that water may be warm and that there is no screw cap on the tank. To safely remove the condensation unit, pull the tank out slowly from the appliance and keep in an upright position. Then, simply pour out the water in the sink. When finished, securely replace the tank back into the tumble dryer.
Disclaimer: only for condenser and heat pump dryers.
