How do you store coffee beans?
To keep your beans fresh, store them in an air-tight and opaque container. Keep your beans in a cool, dark location, away from any sunlight or heat.
For optimum flavour and freshness, invest in a storage container with an air-tight seal. Packaging that doesn't have air-tight zip lock is not ideal as coffee beans are damaged when exposed to air.
How long can you store coffee beans?
If you store your coffee beans correctly, they should preserve their flavour for 6 months. When you go to buy a packet, go for the beans with the longest use by date.
Can you store coffee beans in the freezer?
It's best not to freeze coffee beans. Freezing your coffee beans can damage them, as they may absorb moisture and odours from the air around it. However, if you do need to store them in the freezer, use an air-tight container to help to keep them as fresh as possible. When removing the beans from the container, be sure to be quick with it and return the rest to prevent any condensation on the frozen coffee.
