Restoring the showroom shine on your gas hob shouldn’t be a difficult task. To help, we’ve prepared a simple guide to restoring the attractive cleanliness to your hob, while giving each part the attention it deserves without compromising on safety.
Caution:
- Before cleaning, ensure that the appliance surface is cool.
- Do not remove the control knobs when cleaning the appliance. The appliance may be damaged if moisture gets inside.
- Do not use steam cleaners as these could damage the hobs.
- Never use abrasive products, stainless steel scourers or knives to remove food remnants as these could scratch or damage the surface.
Step by step
Cleaning the hob surface
1. Clean the hob initially with washing up liquid and a soft sponge.
2. Wet clean the hob with a soft, clean sponge
3. To remove burnt-on deposits, apply a small quantity of the Hob Cleaner and wipe clean with a lint-free cloth.
Cleaning the pan support
1. Clean the burners and pan supports using soapy water and scrub with a non-wire brush.
2. If the pan supports are fitted with rubber rests, ensure that these are also cleaned. The rests may come loose and the pan support may scratch the hob.
3. Always dry the burners and pan supports completely.
4. Water droplets or damp patches on the hob at the start of cooking may damage the enamel.
5. After cleaning and drying the burners, make sure the burner caps are correctly positioned on the diffuser.
General advice
- Always clean off any liquid as soon as it is spilt.
- Never strike any part of the hob.
- Melted sugar, or foods which contain a lot of sugar which may have spilt, should be cleaned off the hob immediately.
