If the fridge freezer is not cooling we recommend going through the simple steps shown below, before deciding to call an engineer.
No power going to the fridge freezer
Firstly check that the plug is properly inserted into the socket and the switch is set to on.
If this has been established, check that the socket is providing power by plugging in another electrical product into the socket, for example a lamp. If the socket doesn't work, insert the fridge freezer’s plug into the socket next to it, if you have a double socket, and try again.
If the sockets work, check the fuse in the plug by putting the fuse into another appliance's plug or by putting a new fuse which you know works into the fridge freezer’s plug. Make sure you use a 13 amp fuse.
Also check whether the circuit breaker has tripped. If necessary, contact an electrician.
Temperature set too high
It is possible that you might have accidentally turned the temperature setting too high. As perishable food should not be stored above +4 °C, we recommend setting the fridge to +4 °C. If you are unsure how to do this, please check your appliance's instruction manual.
Condenser coils are dirty
If the condenser coils are dirty, the cooling capacity of the freezer is significantly hindered. To resolve this issue, check our guide on cleaning the condenser coils to ensure that your freezer functions properly in no time.
