If your fridge has ice built up at the back of the shelves, is freezing food or you’re wondering what setting number the fridge should be kept at to prevent frosting, this guide will help you find the answers to it all.
Temperature set too low
It is possible that you might have accidentally turned the temperature setting too low. As perishable food should not be stored above +4 °C, we recommend setting the fridge to +4 °C. If you are unsure how to do this, please check your appliance's instruction manual.
Improper food storage
Ensure that food is properly stored in the fridge by providing enough room for the air vents to circulate cold air consistently. If food blocks the air vents it may become exposed to cold air, which will freeze your items. You should also make sure to distribute food across the fridge and add enough items so that cold air does not settle at the bottom of the fridge.

Faulty door seal
If your door seal no longer functions properly, your fridge will have to work extra hard to maintain cooler temperature. This can lead to frosting and frozen food. You can check if your door seal works as intended by trying to slip through a small piece of paper or £5. If the item goes through, this means you will have to replace it.
