Home Appliances
Maintaining the sleek, polished look of your stainless steel cooker hood can be tricky, especially with everyday grime and fingerprints. However, cleaning your cooker hood doesn’t have to be difficult. With our simple tips, you can easily restore its shine and keep it performing at its best, all without scratching the surface.
Important: Avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools, as they can scratch the stainless steel surface.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Before cleaning, make sure the cooker hood is turned off and unplugged from the power supply.
- Dampen a microfiber cloth or soft sponge with warm water.
- Add a small amount of mild dish soap to the cloth or sponge, and gently wipe the surfaces, following the grain of the stainless steel to avoid scratches. Pay special attention to grease-prone areas like buttons and control panels.
- For stubborn stains or grease build-up, use a soft cloth dipped in the cleaning solution. You can also apply our Degreaser which can be used on stainless steel appliances, for more effective cleaning of tough spots. After cleaning, wipe off any residue and dry thoroughly with a Microfiber Cloth to avoid streaks or marks.
- Now it's a good time to remove and clean the filters. Depending on your model, you may have metal or carbon filters. Metal filters can be soaked in hot soapy water for 20 minutes, gently scrubbed with a soft brush, then rinsed and left to air dry. Carbon filters can’t be washed and should be replaced when needed. For more detailed step-by-step instructions, check our guide here on cleaning cooker hood filters to keep them in top condition or refer to your user manual.
- Once the filters are dry, carefully reinstall them following the instruction manual, ensuring they are securely fitted in place.
- After cleaning the cooker hood, you can use the Conditioning Cloths for Stainless Steel Surfaces for an extra showroom shine and added protection.
