Gas hob not sparking

If your gas hob is not igniting, there are a few simple actions you can carry out safely at home, without the help of an engineer to resolve the issue. Simply follow our guide below.

After cleaning the hob, it’s important to return all burner parts to their correct position as this will likely interfere with the ignition of the hob. Even if you have not just cleaned the hob, double check that every part is in its position before attempting to ignite the hob again. If your hob is not sparking at all, and you are not hearing the usual ticking sounds, it could be because the power is out. Check the fuse box for any trips that could have occurred.
